This IC controls up to 64 LEDs in a 8x8 multiplexed matrix. The IC interfaces via a 3-wire SPI interface. This IC is used in Protean Logic Inc`s Xmas star project. The device can also control 7 segment numeric displays and has a built in character generator for that purpose.
