POSTER of A. A. ZIMMERMAN. Zimmy as he was affectionately called was the reigning World Cycling Champion. He was considered one of the the most respected and important American bicycle racers of the 19th Century. This poster advertised DUNLOP (tires) and CLEMENT (bicycles) although he was most famous as a rider for RALEIGH. Lithographed in France. Poster is 42" x 57". Artist name was Pal which was was the pseudonym of Jean de Paleologue. Used for the retrospective on Zimmerman at the International Cycle History Conference #20 in July 29th 2009 held at Freehold N. J.
