The city of Worcester changed the name of part of Worcester Center Boulevard to Major Taylor Boulevard. The new street signs were unveiled at a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. July 24 outside the Convention Center, at the corner of the Boulevard and Central Street. Mayor Timothy P. Murray, Earlena Yelverton of the NAACP, Lynne Tolman of the Major Taylor Association and Rev. Roosevelt Hughes of the Black Clergy Alliance unveil one of the new street signs.
