An interview with the late Mr. Asushi Sugino, then president of Sugino Cycle Industries. Atsushi was a very kind and passionate man, deeply involved in cycling and the bicycle industry. He was also a very talented photographer who has been published (at least one of his photography books is included in this collection and signed by him). His son, Kozo, has taken over management of the company. Sugino was the first company in Japan to produce high-end alloy cranks for real-serious racing and touring bicycles. |

The advertisement for Maruishi Bicycles. At the time they produced bicycles in their Japanese factory for the domestic market and also for export (including to the USA). Bob Margevicias, currently an exectutive with Specialized was one of the early USA employees of Maruishi-USA. Bob is well known in the bicycle industry as an astute hard working person and he still rides his bike! His accomplishments and contributions to the bicycle industry are many. |
