This bike belongs to Luke DeNitto in Anaheim, CA in 2011. Luke has a bike fetish with a particular desire (interest) for original good quality Schwinn`s. Here is what Luke said about this bike and the acquisition of it:
I met with a fellow collector (John) of Laguna Hills last night who`s main interest is very high end road bikes. He has from time to time listed a few bikes on craigslist. Over the last several months I developed a relationship with him and finally made it to his warehouse. John has a fondness for Italian, French, Japanese, German, English, and of course Schwinn Paramounts to name a few.
I have been on the hunt for a Paramount for quite sometime in my frame size. Being 6`4` I need at least a 58 - 61 cm bike. I didn`t want to throw down hard earned money for something that didn`t fit me properly. John had two Paramounts that fit the bill in size and my meticulous taste for condition. First was an absolutely flawless 1969 Orange Paramount. The other was a 1977 Flamboyant Red Deluxe Touring Paramount. Serial # F7721. I couldn`t take my eyes off it. This bike is 100% original less the vintage chen shing tires. The finish is flawless with only a couple of minor scratches due to handling in storage. The optional bar end shifters are the cats pajamas in my opinion.
John wasn`t quite ready to part with the 1969, but after a few hours of purusing his collection, I decided I wasn`t going home without the 77. The frame`s chromed lugs, Campy components, hubs, handlebars, spokes and wheels were shining just as they were over 34 years ago. John is not known for mainstream selling. He just realizes that he can`t keep them all, and makes it his mission to place the right bike with a new rightful owner. Before I left with my new Red beauty, he promised me the 69 in the very near future. This 1977 bike is `Not For Sale` at any price, just here on your website for all to enjoy.
Here are some fotos of the bike, Thanks for making this hobby as gratifying as can be. Every person I meet seems to be a new best friend.
