 | | Since Howie Cohen's passing, no items are for sale. | The Schwinn Reporter publication was produced monthly by Arnold, Schwinn & Co starting in the early 1950`s. It was the Schwinn House Organ, full of information about the Company, its products, its Franchised & Authorized Dealers and the bicycle industry. The Reporter was written specifically for Schwinn Dealers and was mailed to them each month. Whether it`s Cruisers, Krates, Sting Rays, Paramounts or Collegiates, you can see the evolution of the Schwinn bicycle line and the company by simply reviewing the pages. Each Schwinn Reporter is an extremely valuable piece of reference material.
The Schwinn`sters written about in this issue include: Don Rhem, Augie Honite, Herb Karrigan (the Bendix west coast rep), Keith Kingbay, Pat Tyson, Joe Sullivan, Jerry Katayama, Walter Byker, Jack Ahern, Paul Wager and others. The articles in this issue include: (1) Schwinn Dealers Association of Greater St. Louis Summer Meeting, (2) Inside the Schwinn Factory photos and story Quality Standards, (3) Tyson Cycle Shop of Kenosha, WI (Tyson brothers, Pat, Bob, Francis, Bernard & Pete), and (4) article & photos of Jay`s Bicycle Shop in Colorado Springs, CO owned by Paul Wager. There are many more articles and people to be named in this issue; when time permits I will come back to it and embellish this posting.
