1974 Program for the National Bicycle Dealers Ass`n (NBDA) 28th Annual Convention and Bicycle Show
The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) is an organization of bicycle store owners. In the past years the NBDA organized and promoted a Convention where distributors and manufacturers would display their products and hundreds of bicycle store owners and employees would attend to see the latest items and order merchandise. It was always beneficial to have face-to-face meetings between the customers (dealers) and suppliers (distributors & manufacturers). This is the program for the 28th Annual National Bicycle Show which was held at the Rivera Hotel in Palm Springs, CA for the west, and at the Deauville Hotel in Miami Beach, FL for the east. The image shown here is page-1 the outside front cover. This Program is a compilation of many catalogs & brochures supplied by the various exhibitors. This publication is also known as the National Conventioneer Reference Book. [1974NBDAconvention]

A VERY GOOD REPRODUCTION IS AVAILABLE TO SELL; I HAD IT REPRODUCED AT A PROFESSIONAL PRINTING CO.
A 48-page (including the covers) large format Program for the 57th International 6-Day Race held in New York at the Madison Square Garden from December 2nd to 8th in 1934. The event was sanctioned by The National Cycling Association. The dimensions of the program are 8 1/4 x 10 7/8 inches.
Thirty (30) well known international professional racers are illustrated with a short bio of each. The names read like a WHO`s WHO from the history of cycling archives; Fred Spencer-USA, William Grimm-USA, Franco Georgetti-Italy, Norman Hill-USA, Paul Brocardo-Italy, Adolf Schoen-Germany, Avanti Martinetti-Italy, Tino Reboli-USA, Alfred Letourner-France, Gerard Debaets-Belgium, George Dempsey-Australia, Bobby Thomas-USA, Mickey Rodak-USA, Tony Schaller-USA, Franz Deulberg-Germany, Ewald Wissel-Germany, Jerry Rodman-USA, Harold Ruth-USA, Leroy Garrison-USA, Jackie Sheehan-USA, Bobby Walthour-USA, Paul Croley-USA, Bob Lipsett-USA, Eddie Testa-USA, Hans Zims-Germany and Willie Kuester-Germany.
The list of officials is another group of famous cycling personalities including; Frank L. Kramer, Arthur W. Ross, Nat Butler, Iver Lawson, G.J. Abieneste, Patrick Mulvey, William Drake, Charles Ertz, Fred Fesselmeyer, Joseph Abell, E.M. Galloway, Lewis Heit, Thomas Lynch, Joseph Grimm, Frank Shaw, Jack Roden, Herman Hillenbach, L.A. Fraysse, Frank Small, George Scofield, Emile E. Fraysse and several others.
The program contains articles about bike racing in the day, and the history of 6-day racing. Records for past races from 1924 through 1934 are listed as are Past Records for Every Hour in the years 1913~1917. Some of the adverts feature large photos of some famous racers. This is enjoyable reading and an important piece of research material. The original Program is in poor condition with nicks and tears on the edges of some pages as you can see from these scans of the reproduction. However the text can be clearly read on all pages. The original Program is from the Bill Bina Collection. [1934 6-Day.MSG]
