Dag Hammar in Sweden kindly sent me these photos of a `barely survived` Columbus brand gents partial bike; the serial number is 52511. This is what Dag said about this rare bike: I have managed to get my hands on the Columbus bicycle wreck I mentioned before. It’s in a fairly sad condition but there are some interesting details preserved. The original colour has been a lovely “British racing green”. The fork is re-painted in a somewhat lighter colour. There are fragments of flower ornaments on most (all?) of the tubes including the chain stays! The mudguard is beige and painted like imitated wood. It must have been a beautiful bike… See the picture gallery. If anyone has further information about the Columbus brand bicycles and/or any printed literature (brochures or catalogs), please contact me and I will share the information with Dag in Sweden.[Columbus-1898.c H]
