ACS-BMX aka American Cycle Systems of Duarte, CA |
|---|
ACS (aka American Cycle Systems) was founded in the 1970`s by Chuck Stephens, who together with his partner, Bob Hansen, developed the USA production of light alloy hubs and stems. Their products were used by OEM`s and distributed world wide by a network of jobbers (distributors). The company also produced alloy skateboard trucks which also enjoyed international popularity. As the sport of BMX evolved, ACS answered the demand for nylon (DuPont Zytel) mag wheels and then Z-Rims. In 1995 Keith Stephens took over the reins from his father and ACS has continued to develop bicycle components under Keith`s leadership. The company is presently headquartered in Duarte, California. See their web site at www.acsbmx.com. [ACS AmerCyclSystm]
