College Cycling Club of New York, founded 1935 |

The College Cycling Club of New York was founded in 1935. They celebrated their Silver Jubilee in 1960. Some of the activities of the club included; (a) campaigned for the abolition of proposed bicycle taxes, (b) appealed for more American lightweight bicycles (the then models weighing in the 50~70 lb category), (c) launched programs to popularize the sport of bicycling in conjunction with other organizations in media including; radio, television, movies, print media, and window displays, and (d) organized long distant bicycle tours including; 1936 Tour of Mexico, 1937 Tour of Europe and Egypt, 1938 Tour of Alaska, 1941 Tour of Canadian Rockies and Yellowstone, and more.
