c.1930s-1940s New Departure `Magic Cards` marketing promotion, 6-card set. (Original, not reprints)
AVAILABLE TO SELL, I HAVE A DUPLICATE SET! This photo shows the front and back printing of one of the cards and the custom made envelope in which the 6-cards are contained. The envelope is printed with instructions of how to use the magic cards, guessing a persons age or favorite number. The Coaster Brake illustrated on the cards is the Model D. Huffy, Huffman, Dayton, Davis, Snell and National: Brands produced by the Huffman Mfg Co.
The Huffman Mfg Co was one of the corporate names that this important USA bicycle factory used during its life span. The company started from the Davis Sewing Machine Co of New york which was purchased in 1888 by George P. Huffman. In 1889 the company was moved from NY to Dayton, OH where in 1892 the initial Davis Sewing Machine brand bicycles were produced. The DAYTON brand was started in the 1890s & early 1900s. In 1897 Frank T. Huffman succeeded George P (after his passing). In 1908 Horace M. Huffman Sr. was named Service Parts Manager. In 1915 Davis supplied bicycles to the USA troops. In 1941 Horace Huffman Jr. (aka Huffy) was elected VP & General Manager. In 1955 Huffy moved to Celina, OH and the Radio Bicycle was introduced. Additional information and pictures pending. World Champion 'John Nicholson' Large Shopping Bag by Shimano
This shopping bag was produced by Shimano commerating the 1975 World Championship Sprint win by Australian track cyclist, John Nicholson. A photo of John with his autograph is on both sides of the bag. John repeated his World Championship in 1976 and he won the Silver Metal in the track sprint in the 1972 Olympic Games.
