Joe Bernstein - Pettee Cycle Supply Co. of Denver, CO
  • Joe was the general manager of Pettee for many years. The bicycle dealers in the Denver area loved to do business with Joe because he was knowledgeable and super friendly. I had the pleasure of working with Joe on many occasions because Pettee & WCCSC often traded merchandise; additionally,
  • Pettee was one of the distributors for American Eagle, Nishiki & Azuki bicycles.
  • Joe`s wife, Feggy is the sister of the late Ethel Hayutin, the wife of Irwin Hayutin.
  • As I write this text in December of 2009, Joe will be celebrating his 87th birthday in just a few days (we will treat him to a luncheon on Dec-19th).
  • In this picture (L to R) Joe Bernstein (Pettee Cycle-Denver), Gene `Smitty` Smith and Sandy Smith (Kool Stop), Howie Cohen (Everything Bicycles). The Smith`s were spending a week or so with us in Breckenridge; we phoned Joe in Denver & invited him to have lunch with us. Kay took the picture.
