1970-Dec, Japan`s Adventure Cyclist
A monthly magazine covering the bicycling scene in Japan (racing, touring & repairing). It is full of advertisements of the products of the period including ads from: Kawamura Bicycles, SunTour Maeda, Sugino, DiaCompe, Kusuki, Maruishi Bicycles, Cat Eye, Kyokuto KKT Pedals, Katakura (Silk) Bicycles, Matoba (Matex), Araya Bicycles, and others. Therefore magazines such as these are very good for researching products of the period, This months issue front cover is a picture of one of Howie`s sport shirts which I loaned them for this photo. I also gave one of these shirts to Mr. Junzo Kawai (Junchan) who has a passion for bicycles. There is a short story on page 26 which includes mention and photos of Howie, Zeldon Lipski of Louisville Cycle, and 3 gents from Maeda SunTour; Junchan, Ted Maeda (Tedchan) and Ozakisan. The dimensions are 7 1/8 x 10 1/8 inches, see the picture gallery. [MagCntmpor J 304L]

1980-1984 Japan Cycle Press Issues #1-#18
Japan Cycle Press is a trade publication published in Japan. News about the worldwide bicycle industry is printed (Asia, USA, Europe, etc.). Photographs of bike industry personnel and advertisements are plentiful. The dimensions are 10 3/4 x 16 inches. This particular volume is hard bound and contains issues #1 September 1, 1980 (28-pages) - #18 November 1984 (40-pages). This hard cover bound set of 18 issues was autographed to Howie by the then Editor-Publisher, Mr. Takaya Sakamoto. The Japan Cycle Press is a splendid source of reference material for the bicycle industry. I have found that not all of the reported articles are completely accurate. [MagCntmpor J 297.D]
