Rixe produced both high end and entry level bicycles in their West Germany facility. They produced some fine track & road racing models as well as a wide variety of tandems & triplets. Mr. Earnest Reyersbach, owner of Victoria Distributors in Lancaster, PA was the importer for Rixe bikes to the USA in the 1950`s and into the 1960`s. Howie visited Victoria Distributors in the late 1950`s during a business trip through the east coast. WCCSC purchased some of our merchandise from Victoria Distributors including Rixe bikes. [Rixe]
The name Victoria in Victoria Cycles is named after Dave`s charming wife. They live in the quaint town of Salida, Colorado where Dave produces a hand full (or more) of custom frames and/or bikes (road, track, mountain or cyclo-cross) per month.
