Mr. A.S. Weaver of Hamilton, Ontario Canada-Inventor of Sociable Tandem |
|---|
Mr A.S. Weaver of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is the self proclaimed inventor of the two wheel side-by-side sociable tandem. I am not certain that he actually produced the machines. He may have sold or licensed the invention to a bicycle maker. His picture and article appear on page-80 of an 1895 issue of Wheel Talk, a publication for the trade published by Morgan & Wright Tire Co of Chicago. [Weaver, Mr. A.S.]

Nishiki Bicycles |
|---|
Nishiki brand bicycles were originally produced by Kawamura Cycles of Kobe Japan exclusively for West Coast Cycle Supply Company (aka WCCSC and/or WCC), Howie`s family company. Nishiki was the successor brand of the American Eagle brand bicycles. See more information in another section of this web site about the history & meaning of Nishiki and why Howie decided to change the brand from American Eagle to Nishiki. This is a hang tag that was supplied with each bicycle that was produced in Japan by Kawamura. Notice that three other USA distributors are also mentioned in the hang tag (Pettee Cycle, Louisville Cycle and Mc Rae & Conner; they were associate distributors of the brand for WCC. Additional text & pictures pending. [Nishiki Bicycles]
