From the web site of The U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, www.usbhof.com United States Bicycling Hall of Fame Announces Expansion Agreement with the California Bicycling Museum - Press Release - Mar 30, 2010 The U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame has joined forces with the California Bicycle Museum and expanded the board of directors to include the board members of both organizations. The expansion agreement brings together two best in class operations, one of the most extensive bicycle collections in the world and the home of all 128 athletes inducted to the Hall of Fame throughout its 25 year history. `This is an exciting milestone`, said Hall of Fame Board President Dawn Wylong. `We will portray cycling history with two very unique collections administered by two experienced boards coming together. We`re confident that this expansion will quickly bring success to the Hall of Fame in its new home.` Previously located in Somerville, N.J., the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame announced relocation to Davis, California in 2009. The Hall of Fame is planning a grand opening celebration open to the public on April 24 at the new location at 303 B Street in downtown Davis within Central Park. The Hall of Fame will now provide visitors the opportunity to view the UC Davis Pierce Miller Collection of antique bicycles, the extensive catalog of memorabilia from the Hall of Fame, the recent 2009 class of Hall of Fame inductees, along with recent acquisitions of key cycling artifacts. `It`s exciting to be a part of a national treasure like the Bicycling Hall of Fame` said Anthony Costello, President of the California Bicycle Museum who is joining the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. `This combined organization has a real opportunity to create the world`s most complete collection of celebrated athletes and historical cycling artifacts under one roof.` ### Media Contacts: Diane Parro, Yolo County Visitors Bureau (530) 297-1900 diane@yolocvb.org or Bob Bowen, City of Davis, (530) 757-5691 bbowen@cityofdavis.org Additional text and pictures pending.
